Recycling

I've been looking into recycling. We have some resources here in Mt. Shasta for recycling plastic and aluminum, but apparently the closest place that recycles paper is in Yreka. Becky Kubowitz at the City offices in Mt. Shasta says that they take their paper to Redding. I cannot imagine the amount of waste we create in our schools, particularly of paper. Is there a way we can address this?

Sustainability

I plan on using a towel in the bathroom rather than paper towels, turning off lights and fan when possible, turning off copiers and printers when possible.

We did an amazing job at reducing electricity usage for July and August. Keep it up and remember the focus on students will be the primary way we reach our sustainability goal.
