Recycling
I've been looking into recycling. We have some resources here in Mt. Shasta for recycling plastic and aluminum, but apparently the closest place that recycles paper is in Yreka. Becky Kubowitz at the City offices in Mt. Shasta says that they take their paper to Redding. I cannot imagine the amount of waste we create in our schools, particularly of paper. Is there a way we can address this?

Mount Shasta High School has a large recycling dumpster for school/employee use. Any and all recyclables can be placed in this dumpster. We do keep it locked up in our bus area because we can not accommodate it as a community recycle area. But we should use it for school recycling.
ReplyDeleteIs that dumpster accessible to Jefferson? What about the other schools?
ReplyDeleteYes it is located in our bus storage area just above MSHS. All schools can use this to recycle. We need to develop a method of getting the goods from the school sites to the dumpster.
